Tamdanan.. pasabot ani kay sundanan, sun-ananan or giya (guide). Pero gigamit usab ang tamdanan pareho sa mga pagbasa or basahon. See also related “sumbanan”.

Tamdanan sa pari matag domingo ang bibliya. (The priest guide (or manual) every sunday is the bible).

The use of “manual” here is not the opposite of automatic but a book or a booklet, or a kind paper references.
