Carabao English – not Carabao in English, haha! What does “Carabao English” mean?
We’ll, we know carabao is a water buffalo (kalabaw in tagalog or kabaw in bisaya), but the phrase “Carabao English” is nothing to do with the above notion.
All Filipino’s knows english, doesn’t matter if it is Carabao English
Carabao English is broken english. Someone could talk english, not fluent or grammatically correct, whatever but one could deliver the message in a way that audience or listener can be able to understand. Carabao English usually coupled with lots of hand gestures to emphasize what he meant.
1) When a foreigner asked someone for a direction
2) When a foreigner asked how to eat certain foods or open certain fruits
There are even funny/commedy made vlogs which one is a foreighner but can actually understand bisaya but ask local in english. The funny part is you can see that local has have hard time explaining what’s been asked. for example, Bisayang Hilaw.
